We will wake up early to watch the sunrise from the top of a dune before enjoying a relaxed breakfast. You can return to the hotel either by camel or in a 4×4 vehicle. Depending on the weather and available time, you may relax by the swimming pool, explore the dunes or enjoy an optional quad bike or buggy excursion across the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

We will then travel by 4×4 to the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people, musicians of sub-Saharan African origin. They will entertain us with traditional music and dances while we enjoy mint tea, often called “Berber whisky.” You may support the musicians by purchasing one of their CDs for €10 or leaving a tip of at least €5.

Afterwards, we will continue towards Taouz and follow the former Paris-Dakar Rally track to discover fascinating ancient rock carvings. We will then pass through the village of Jdaid, where we will have lunch at the home of a Berber family and enjoy traditional Berber pizza accompanied by tea.

You will also have the opportunity to receive a henna tattoo from a local artist specialising in this traditional art. A tip for the henna artist is recommended. If you wish, you may also explore the village of Ouzina and its oasis.

In the afternoon, we will travel to our hotel in the Ouzina Desert to leave our luggage. Later, we may visit the Ouzina dunes to admire the sunset and experience the untouched beauty and tranquillity of this wild desert in southern Morocco.

Accommodation: Overnight stay at Kasbah Hotel Porte de Sahara Ouzina, including dinner and breakfast.

We will wake up and have breakfast at 9:00 a.m. before departing from the hotel and continuing our 4-day, 3-night excursion from the Ouzina Desert.

We will pass through Rissani, one of Morocco’s oldest towns and the former capital of the Alaouite dynasty. At the edge of the town, we will stop to take photographs of the Gateway to the Desert.

We will then continue towards Erfoud, where you will have the option to visit a fossilised marble workshop. Afterwards, we will travel through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad before reaching the Todra Gorges.

Over time, the river has carved a spectacular canyon with towering vertical walls, making it a paradise for rock climbers. We will have lunch there and take a walk to explore and admire the impressive scenery.

In the afternoon, we will continue towards the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.

After breakfast, we will depart for the Valley of Roses, where we can make a stop if you are interested. We will then continue towards Skoura along the famous Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.

Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital, we will stop at the Kasbah of Taourirt to take panoramic photographs. We will then visit the famous film studios, where we will make another photo stop.

Afterwards, we will continue towards the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient 11th-century fortified village recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, we will cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tinifift Pass.

At approximately noon, we will arrive at the famous village of Ait Ben Haddou. You will have free time to explore the kasbah and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, we will begin our return journey to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains before arriving in Morocco’s famous Red City. Upon arrival, we will transfer you by vehicle as close as possible to your accommodation.

This marks the end of our 4-day, 3-night excursion from Fez to Marrakech via the Merzouga Desert.
