New Year’s Eve and Christmas Trip to Morocco: An Unforgettable Experience Between Deserts and Mountains
Celebrate the magic of Christmas or welcome the New Year in a unique way, traveling through the most fascinating landscapes of southern Morocco on a 5-day journey filled with culture, adventure, and authenticity.
This tour begins in Marrakech and takes you through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and discover Berber villages that preserve their traditional way of life. Along the route, you will have the opportunity to visit a women’s argan oil cooperative, learning about their artisanal methods and its many benefits.
The route continues toward the legendary Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the backdrop for numerous movies and TV series. Afterward, you will reach Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and the film center of Morocco.
As you move forward, you will discover increasingly surprising landscapes: the charming Valley of the Roses, the famous Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, and the impressive Dades Valley, where you will spend the first night surrounded by nature and tranquility.
The adventure continues toward the spectacular Todra Gorge, a canyon with vertical walls that leaves every visitor speechless. From there, the trip ventures into the desert until reaching the majestic dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi).
One of the most special moments of the trip will be the camel ride at sunset, traversing the dunes to reach a traditional luxury tent camp. There, you will experience a magical night under a starry sky, complete with a typical dinner and Berber music around the campfire.
The journey also includes cultural immersion in the desert: visiting nomadic families, enjoying traditional music in Khamlia, taking a 4×4 tour along old Dakar Rally tracks, and the option to enjoy activities such as quad biking or sandboarding.
On the return journey, you will pass through the Draa Valley and the Anti-Atlas Mountains, discovering pre-desert landscapes, oases, and historic villages before returning to Marrakech.
